Working with clay is a pleasure that enriches me.  I love to ‘play in the mud’!  Clay art has brought new friends, concepts, and experiences into my life for which I am very grateful.  I am in awe of ancient pottery from Japan, China, Greece and Africa and also appreciate contemporary forms.  As a jewelry designer for many years, I worked with natural gemstones and hand carved beads.  The colors and textures of those natural and man made works of art influence my work today.

My concentration is in hand building.  I build with clay coils and slabs, some with pressed in textures or hand carved designs.  These building techniques enable me to work with the clay at a peaceful pace.  Firing is done mostly in an electric kiln.  I use more exciting primitive firing techniques such as raku, horsehair, fuming, pit & wood firings when and where possible.

My mission is to create interesting pieces for use or esthetics.  It is an honor to tribute classic artisans and their work.  I am humbled by what has come before and am excited about what is yet to come.  Finding good homes for my pieces and knowing they are enjoyed by others is very gratifying.

My gratitude to all who support my endeavors.
